Blitz Conditioning is Edmonton’s most innovative Personal Training and Group Fitness Company. We believe that fitness must integrate into your every day activities. Our goal is not only to provide our clients with exercise programs that are personalized, results driven and challenging, but to help integrate them into communities of fitness and link them with trusted health businesses.

I grew up in Edmonton and for as long as I can remember all I wanted to do was play sports. Being the younger brother of two I was always trying to keep up. After seeing my older brother strap on the skates that’s all I wanted to do. From the moment I put skates on at two and walked up and down our carpeted hallway, I fell in love with the game.

Playing elite level hockey, it did not take long for me to realize that training off the ice was very vital in improving my game. I began to fall in love with the fitness side of hockey and after having my hockey journey come to an end I couldn’t think of a better profession. I love training hockey players. I want their dreams to come true and I want to be a part of it.

Training has become my life. I love working with people but more so I love watching them work. I love seeing a bead of sweat drop off a client’s nose. I love watching their faces push through a workout fully knowing that a month ago they couldn’t do it. I love watching them walk out of Blitz with a sense of pride knowing they just bettered themselves and their life.

I was fortunate enough to meet my business partner Chris in 2010. We soon realized that we had a similar vision when it came to developing a personal training studio. Chris and I both truly believe that if you are passionate about what you do others recognize it and it becomes infectious. We have worked extremely hard to develop the Blitz Community into something special and we know that Blitz wouldn’t be what it is without the team we have around us. From the clients to trainers everyone plays a huge role in what Blitz Conditioning is today.

I’m passionate about helping my clients, engraining a lifestyle of fitness and creating communities that are based on a healthy lifestyle. My approach to personal training is to look at each person as unique and to care for their physical and mental health. I am passionate about personal growth and breaking barriers of fitness for each of my clients. I look at the individual as a system of which external changes affect their mental, physical and spiritual states. Physical fitness is just one component of the self that must be looked at in order to ensure that the whole person is able change their life.

What you should expect from a training session with me

You should expect your training sessions to be adapted to your specific needs and current health status. I have worked with sedentary people and athletes in ways that are uniquely challenging and produce results that are long lasting. Expect to be physically challenged throughout the entire session but to also have fun doing it! Whether it is in individualized training, group training or training with your dog I believe in providing quality and well founded fitness principles in order to guide you in your journey in health and wellness.

I wasn’t born in Edmonton but I definitely call it home. I love this city because of the amazing people I meet, the amazing things we do here as a community, and our amazing river valley where I spend a lot of my time exploring the trails. Life is about constantly pushing ourselves to be better – that same rule applies to our fitness. As a runner and spin aficionado, I know how important it is to strengthen my muscles and to compliment my training programs – that is why I started as a client with Blitz two years ago. Since then, I became a HIIT instructor, joined the ownership team, and launched our incredible Spin Studio.

If you were wondering what it is like to take one of my classes – I would summarize it by saying it will be a love-hate relationship. I will take you outside of your comfort zone and always encourage you to bring 110%. You may not want to hang out with me after class but you will definitely be back for more.

Health and Fitness is and has been an integral part of my every day life. My determination, strong work ethic and perseverance have provided me with new opportunities to pursue my passion for personal fitness. Weights and gym life have given me an outlet to relieve stress and gain mental clarity.

I developed a deep passion for sports at a very young age. Just like any young Canadian boy growing up, it was my ultimate dream to play in the NHL. I ate, slept, and breathed hockey. At the age of sixteen, I took the opportunity to move to the United States to continue my path in making my childhood dream a reality. When playing at an elite level, I soon realized how fundamental off-season and off ice training was and began acquiring more knowledge; eventually designing my own programs. A combination of nutrition, mental preparation, and hours of training allowed me to become an effective player on the ice. After playing a couple seasons of junior hockey, I decided it was time to discover a profession that allowed me to pursue my passion for health and fitness. Last May, I completed my undergraduate degree with a Bachelors Degree in Science, majoring in Exercise Science and Human Performance and Fitness.

I am so excited to be a part of Team Blitz. As a trainer, I look forward to working with members of all ages and experience. By providing an individualized program that match lifestyle and goals, the positive impact of diet and exercise will be experienced on a daily basis. I design programs that will challenge people to reach their individualized goals and lead to outstanding results that will increase confidence, motivation and positivity.


Andrea Troughton

andreaI was born and raised in Edmonton, and grew up leading a very active life. I spent many years involved in different styles of dance, but fell out of it in my late teens. After high school, I began practicing hot yoga, and became certified to teach Zumba, but no matter the activity, I never seemed to stick with it long term.

It wasn’t until 2011 when I hired a personal trainer that I really found something I could stick to. I worked with my trainer for over a year when I decided to compete in a Bikini competition. At the time I was a full time bartender, and as my lifestyle changed during my prep for the competition, I realized how much I had grown, and improved myself, and how I wanted to find a career that both supported my new lifestyle, but also one in which I would be able to help others to achieve the meaningful, personal growth that I had. It was at this time when I applied for the Personal Fitness Trainer Program at NAIT.

The PFT program at NAIT provided me with the tools and knowledge to pursue this rewarding career, and helped me attain certifications as a CESEP Certified Personal Trainer, an AFLCA Certified Fitness Trainer, and an NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist. NAIT also lead me to the opportunity to become involved with Blitz Conditioning, and I could not be happier.

I love helping clients improve their lifestyles and their self-esteem by giving them the tools to become more active and confident in their abilities. I enjoying challenging my clients and seeing their confidence grow when they discover the amazing things that their bodies are capable of. I want my clients to believe that there is nothing they can’t do.


Sarah Meier

Sarah MeierMy passion for fitness stems from over 15 years of dancing during my childhood in a variety of disciplines, including ballet, jazz, and lyrical. After high school, once I realized I was never going to have a career as a back-up dancer, I took up group fitness classes. Over the years I have attended all different types of classes, including step, spin, yoga, zumba, barre, kick-boxing, and of course Blitz HIIT. This love for group fitness led to me becoming AFLCA certified in Group Fitness in 2012.

One thing you will quickly notice about me is my unwavering love for pop music! So when you are getting Blitzfit with me, you will be getting Blitzfit with Britney, Rihanna, Beyonce, and all the Top 40 jams in between!

I am thrilled to be apart of the Blitz team! Since the first time I walked through the Blitz Conditioning doors and I instantly felt welcomed and apart of a fitness family. HIIT classes are tough, no doubt about it, but we go through both the good times and the difficult times together, which is incredible motivation to keep pushing on.

When I am not at the gym, you can find me outdoors snowboarding, cycling, jogging, or walking the family dog, Abbey. And to settle my competitive side, I absolutely love battling it out on the triathlon course, having completing 3 races last year, and competing in 4 more races this summer.

Hello! I am Kat, a Certified Holistic Nutritionist. I have a serious passion for holistic living and love educating people on healthy eating and well-being. I believe in eating fresh, whole foods, cooking with real ingredients, keeping chemicals out of daily care products and doing what makes you really happy as often as possible.

I wasn’t always a health guru having battled an eating disorder for several years. It wasn’t until I began my journey to healing that I realized just how important real, whole foods are in my life and the vital role they play in creating my well-being physically, mentally, and spiritually. I spent a long time focusing on healing my body from the inside out. I changed my diet, by adding, not deleting. I changed my thoughts, which turned into positive actions, and I learned how to treat my body as a whole using the nutrients from whole foods to restore and maintain balance.

As a Holistic Nutritionist I don’t believe in one-size fits all approach to health. What works for one person may not work for the next. We are all biochemically different and unique and each person has individual nutritional needs. My job is to educate you on eating clean and healthy (while not being stressed) by taking small steps to get you where you want to be. I want you live a life of health, love and balance, and I am committed to helping you achieve that.

I moved to Edmonton from Toronto in the summer of 2014 where I was quickly introduced to Blitz and it’s community. I fell in love with their HIIT classes immediately and found complete gratification in having my butt kicked a few times a week at 6am.

I have always been an active individual. I was a competitive dancer from the ages of 6-18 and spent my evenings and weekends doing just that.

What I love about Blitz and their community is that it’s not just a one time thing or a one month challenge and then you’re done. This is a lifestyle. It’s part of your routine and part of who you are. We all have the power of choice. You have choice over your thoughts, actions and words and you have the choice to lead a healthy, active lifestyle.
